This engine could be enlarged to 6.4-liters and is expected to generate more than 500hp, possibly as high as the BMW M SUVs’ 555hp figure. This much power, when combined with the new 2011 Grand Cherokee’s improved chassis, could just be enough for it to regain the top spot in the juiced-up SUV segment.

This truck won’t be complying with CAFÉ standards but since sales will be limited, Jeep might find this endeavor worthwhile. The truck could be seen as a practical alternative to the German and English alternatives if it is given a proper suspension setup and if it gets sufficient features.

Jeep has selected Goodyear Wrangler to be its tire provider for the upcoming lineup. Goodyear Wrangler SR-A tires in size P215/65R17 was incorporated to establish Jeep parts to produce more efficient vehicles. Said tire will serve as original equipment for the 2007 version of Jeep Compass. The latter is the new compact SUV from the automaker which is based on Dodge Caliber and GS platform. Said model is now available for dealership.

Two of the features that make the 2.4 L Global Engine found in the 2010 Jeep Compass attractive are the lightweight aluminum construction and the fact that the engines were designed to be easy to work on. The driveability doesn't let the side down either, with a torque-y 2.0 litre diesel ably propelling the Compass around town or quietly down the motorway. The independent suspension steals the show however, giving the car (yes car!) a smooth, quiet and undeniably comfortable ride.

Pricing at an initial glace a tad high, with UK models starting at £18,990, however compare the American hatchback to its rivals in terms of how it drives, comfort, standard kit and exclusivity and it suddenly seems like a steal. It must be stressed that if you do buy the Jeep Compass and you tackle much more than a stone on the road you'll look like a beached whale. Use the Compass as intended though and you'll find a hatchback that is a serious contender to the likes of its similarly priced rivals.
